- Since you are currently meeting in a high school, will you ever have a building?
- In December of 2006 High Pointe purchased 40 acres of land approximately .8 mile west of the intersection of 224th and SR161 in Graham. Over the next 2-3 years, we will be preparing the site in order to build a permanent home for our church. Meanwhile, we are very blessed to be able to rent the facilities at Emerald Ridge High School.
- How can I have a relationship with God?
- God Himself, through the sacrificial death of His Son, Jesus Christ, has provided the way for us to have a relationship with Him. Please click here to learn more.
- How do I grow spiritually?
- God has made us to live in relationship with Him and with other Christ-followers. By spending meaningful time with other believers who are seeking to grow spiritually, we ourselves are strengthened, taught, and encouraged. - What is the leadership structure of High Pointe?
- The leadership responsibility of the day-to-day operation of High Pointe Church rests with the Lead Pastor. Individual ministries are led by Directors who are primarily accountable to the Lead Pastor. The Elder Team is responsible for overseeing the general spiritual condition of the church. The Lead Pastor is primarily accountable to the Elder Team. The Elder Team is primarily accountable to the church congregation. The congregation is primarily accountable to the Elder Team, Lead Pastor and Ministry Directors.
- Why is it important to go to church? Can't I worship God on my own?
- Yes, you can worship God by yourself, wherever you are, and, in fact, we are commanded by the Bible to do so. However, the Bible also teaches us that we are created for community—to be joined with other believers to honor God together, and together to carry on the ministry He has given us to change the spiritual landscape of South Hill and beyond.
- Are people who are not Christians welcome at High Pointe?
- Yes! We exist to provide a friendly, welcoming environment to those who have not yet crossed the line of faith in Jesus Christ. Here you can check out what it means to be a follower of Christ without worrying about people coming to your house uninvited, or us trying to guilt you into giving. Feel free to come, relax, and experience God at a level that makes you feel comfortable. We won't pressure you, but will be available to answer any questions you may have.
- What should I wear to your church? Do I have to dress up?
- Dress however you feel comfortable. Most of our church dresses quite casually. Shorts and tee-shirts are common in warm weather.
- Can God forgive someone like me?
- Yes, God will forgive anyone who genuinely seeks His forgiveness, regardless of his/her past. Because Jesus Christ has completely paid the penalty for our wrong-doing, as His followers we can live completely guilt-free.
