Ruth Ann Van Steen
Ruth Ann is the Missions & Outreach Pastor at High Pointe. She joined the High Pointe staff in December of 2004.
Ruth Ann was born June 10, 1960 in Gonzales, Texas and later moved to the Austin, Texas area, where she lived until moving to Washington in 1995. She graduated from the University of Texas in 1986 with a B.A. in Linguistics, and has worked for 18 years doing legal, administrative, and technical support for the Office of the Texas Attorney General, as well as a private law firm in Seattle. Ruth Ann and her husband, Alex, were married in 1997 and live in Eatonville, Washington.
Ruth Ann is very concerned with issues of disease and injustice, as they affect people both locally and globally. She loves traveling with High Pointe teams to Guatemala and South Africa as we partner with local churches there. She is strongly committed to encouraging the people of High Pointe to pursue and develop individual relationships with God and to grow more like Christ one-by-one and as a church. She believes passionately that transformative life change occurs when individuals comprehend God's love for them.
Ruth Ann enjoys hiking, reading, and playing with the family hound dogs.
